Orion is updated every week, and the full list of changes lives in the in-app release notes. This post gathers the recent headlines that change day-to-day operations the most.
Paperless central exams: virtual optical forms
Students answer central exams in their own accounts, marking an on-screen optical form. The institution sets the start time and duration; submitted forms are scored by the same rules as paper.
For paper exams there is photo capture: the form is photographed or uploaded, and the marks read are confirmed on screen and sent to scoring.
Orion in your pocket: the iOS and Android app
Students, parents, teachers and managers follow exam results, homework, payment plans and announcements on their phones. The institution decides in Notification Settings which event notifies whom.
- Students and parents are notified when online exam results open
- Feedback straight from the app
- Mobile usage statistics by device, version and institution
The whole institution: Accounting, Purchasing, CRM and HR
Orion now covers the back office too. Accounting handles accounts, invoices, cheques and notes, cash and foreign currency; Purchasing runs an approved flow from request to goods receipt. CRM handles prospective students and the shared approval engine, and Human Resources covers staff and leave.
All of them look at the same student, parent and institution data: a collection taken in accounting settles the student's instalment directly.
Faster decisions: dashboards and Single PDF
The Exam and Automation modules now open on dashboards with participation, enrolment, collection and overdue-instalment indicators at a glance. The Single PDF screen prepares reports chosen from the province, district and institution tree in one file or one file per institution.
New to the family: Zekai
Zekai uses AI to write an original multiple-choice question for the outcome you choose, draws its figure, runs it through quality control and prepares a narrated video solution. Approved questions become a PDF test book with one click. It is built for publishers, question writers and teachers.
